Introduction
  • Education is the path for ensuring a long-lasting
implementation of the principles of Sustainable
Development. In any of its chapters, this
education must follow a coherent approach,
starting with the trainers of the youngsters,
with the young pupils, students and going to
    adults.
  • The Centre for Sustainable Development, in the
    Transilvania University of Brasov, Romania
provides a training line on Sustainable Energy,
with a strong orientation on Renewable Energy
    Systems.
  • Research and Education are synergic integrated
in developing a strategy that involves not only
the university area but is extended to the
regional community and targets the national and
    European priorities.

The Centre for Sustainable Development
  • In November 2003 this institutional structure was
initiated aiming to act, according to a coherent
strategy, for integrating the groups in and
outside the university in research and training
    projects on this subject.

The Centre for Sustainable Development
  • ADULTS TRAINING
  • The informal training is related to the members
    of the society
  • seeking for knowledge and information on RES
  • for insertion in the working market
  • for development of new economical units in order
to fill a gap, sensed between the offer and
    demand in this domain.
  • Adults education in the paradigm of lifelong
    learning covers also projects for
  • rising the awareness of population
  • training key factors and decision makers able to
shape the future in full knowledge of the demands
    and possibilities.

Perspectives
  • Looking forward to the future, the Centre for
Sustainable Development has formulated a strategy
    for its own sustainable development.
  • This strategy is based on inner collaboration and
    external networking with other institutions,
members of the national and European academic
community but also with representatives of the
    economic and social environment.
  • The support for developing spin off companies is
another point of our future and represents an
experience so far not fully exploited in Romania.
