9Preparatory Phase
- Preparatory phase begins at the assembly area.
As the title implies, the actions of this phase
ready the team for the assault. The preparatory
phase begins at the assembly area (AA) and
continues to the line of departure (LOD) or upon
contact with the enemy. - 1. AA AA should be out of range of enemy
fire and provide sufficient cover and
concealment. The fire team leader or squad
leader should do a gear check and brief their
team. The assembly area may also be used for
eating, ammo supply and rest. - 2. ATK (attack position) last covered and
concealed position before the LOD. Here final
preparations are made before committing to the
attack. This may include a short security halt to
orient the map, check radio, and change
formations.
10Conduct Phase
- Conduct Phase Encompasses the assault portion
of the attack. You will get into assault
formation and rush the objective during this
phase. LOD- Assault Position (ASLT)- Objective
(OBJ) - 1. LOD Usually runs perpendicular to the line of
attack and is a recognizable terrain feature.
At the LOD the team is leaving the area supported
by friendly fire and crossing into enemy
territory. The team should NEVER reach the LOD
late since this compromises the chances of
successful mission accomplishment. If the LOD is
reached early, radio contact should be made.
- 2. ASLT Last covered and concealed position
before the objective. Will make final
preparation for the actual assault, i.e.. Insert
magazine, fix bayonet, make grenades readily
available.
11Conduct Phase
