What are equivalent decimals?

• Equivalent decimals- are different names for the
  same number or amount.
• Equivalent Equal (or the same)

How do I find equivalent decimals?

• Step 1 Line up the numbers one on top of the
  other- making sure the decimals line up.
• Ex Decide if 0.09 and 0.009 is equivalent.
• 0 . 0 9
• 0 . 0 0 9

• Step 2 Add zeroes as necessary to fill in any
  missing spots.
• Ex Decide if 0.09 and 0.009 is equivalent.
• 0 . 0 9 0
• 0 . 0 0 9

• Step 3 Compare the numbers going step by step
  through each set of numbers starting off on the
  left. You are looking to see if your numbers are
  exactly the same.
• 0 . 0 9 0
• 0 . 0 0 9
• IF they are- than you have equivalent decimals.
• IF they are not- than you do not have equivalent
  decimals.
