APPLICATION FOR AUTHORISATION
  • An Authorisation is required to carry out mining
    activities on a mining interest (title).
  • This is a legislative requirement under Section
    35 of the Mining Management Act.
  • The Department administers this Section of the
    Act through the Application for Authorisation.
  • The form must be signed and the original
    submitted to the Department.

NOMINATION OF OPERATOR
  • This form is required when the owner of a mining
    interest is not the operator for the mining site.
  • The appointment of an operator is a legislative
    requirement under Section 10 of the Mining
    Management Act.
  • If there is more than one title holder, each
    title holder should complete a Nomination of
    Operator form.
  • The form must be signed and the original
    submitted to the Department.

AUTHORITY TO DEAL WITH AGENT
  • This is a legal document that must be completed
    by both the Operator and the appointed Agent.
  • This confirms that the consultant is the Agent
    of the Operator and authorises DRDPIFR to deal
    directly with the Agent.
  • This Authority allows DRDPIFR to exchange and
    disclose information about the Operator with the
    Agent.
  • All information, requests or documents will be
    provided directly to the Agent, and the Operator
    must rely on the Agent to pass on the
    information.
  • Matters where DRDPIFR will deal exclusively with
    the Agent include all matters relating to mining
    activities under the Mining Management Act.
  • Matters where DRDPIFR will deal directly with
    the Operator, but may also provide correspondence
    with the Agent, includes directions to undertake
    actions on a mining site.

As per Section 40 of the Mining Management Act, a
mining management plan is to include the
following information and documents relevant to
the proposed mining activities to be carried out
on a mining site
  • the identification and description of the mining
    activities
  • particulars of the implementation of the
    management system to address environmental
    issues
  • a plan and costing of closure activities
  • particulars of the organisational structure
  • plans of current and proposed mine workings and
    infrastructure and other information or documents
    required by the Minister.
