Title: DEN HELDER MEETING
1- DEN HELDER MEETING
- 13-14 MAY 2007
- WP12 MONITORING
2Reminders
- During all meetings we have discussed about
monitoring - During the ATHENS meeting REVIVAL MINIMAL
MONITORING EXERCICE has been prepared - (by N. Baker and GIS)
3 REVIVAL minimal monitoring exercise
The focus is to obtain a monitoring with the
same presentation form

5REVIVAL - CHEVROLLIER case
- We apply REVIVAL MINIMAL MONITORING EXERCICE in
the Chevrollier refurbishment project
- 3 actions
- Préparation du minimal exercice monitoring
- BEMS improvement
- Post occupancy analysis survey
-
6Post-occupation evaluation
Looking for accede to a demand from EU Commission
during last meeting in Athens we present the
post-occupation survey
7Percentage of questionnaires
8Questionnaire evaluation (1)
9Questionnaire evaluation (2)
10Questionnaire evaluation (3)
11Chevrollier evaluation - Conclusion
- The first results of satisfaction encourage to
realize a second evaluation aiming to
improvements on the first evaluation and to give
further information and precision - Taking in account the existing pre-fabricated
building, the BEMS problems and, an analysis per
area
12REVIVAL - Stevenage case
13Table of monitoring points
14(No Transcript)
15Stevenage BEMS
- A significant investment has been made in
installing monitoring equipment including
additions to central BEMS

20REVIVAL GSIS
- Monitoring of
- Comfort/Indoor Air Quality (short term
monitoring with temporary equipment) - done - Energy consumption comfort parameters (long
term monitoring through BMS) started , duration
1 year -
21REVIVAL GSIS
Short-term measurements of Comfort Indoor Air
Quality in representative office areas
- The following comfort parameters were measured
- CO, CO2 and TVOC concentration using the tracer
gas technique - Concentration of particles PM10, PM 2.5 and PM1
-
- Ventilation rates
22REVIVAL - GSIS
- Monitoring of CO, CO2 and TVOC levels
- Tracer gas technique (multigas analyser of Bruel
and Kjaer, type 1302) - Aerosol monitor (TSI Dust Track -model 8520) for
the monitoring of PM particles - Volume meter (ALNOR) ventilation rates at inlet
extracts
23REVIVAL - GSIS
Short term monitoring results CO2 concentration
- The CO2 concentration did not exceed the ASHRAE
(1000ppm) national standards - Within the acceptable comfort levels
- In some densely occupied areas slight increase of
the CO2 levels during the - monitoring period but within the comfort zone
24REVIVAL - GSIS
Short term monitoring results CO concentration
TVOC levels
- The CO concentration did not exceed the ASHRAE
(9ppm) national standards - Very low levels apart from one office area where
some higher values were - monitored but also these remained within the
comfort levels
25REVIVAL - GSIS
Short term monitoring results Particles PM 10,
PM2.5, PM1 ventilation rates
- The concentration of particles PM10, PM2.5 and
PM1 is very low and - close to zero values.
- The monitored airflow in the majority of the
inlets/outlets of the office areas is low. - The dampers of the ventilation system not fully
operate, will be regulated taking - Into account the results of these measurements.
- However, the CO2 concentration is within
acceptable levels. - No discomfort is noted.
26REVIVAL - GSIS
Long term monitoring of energy and comfort BMS
(started from April 2007)
- Long term monitoring - BMS of the GSIS building
will provide the base level of monitoring. - Measurements of energy and comfort parameters
- Energy consumption
- Heating (kWh/m2)
- Cooling (kWh/m2)
- Energy for lighting
- Comfort parameters
- Internal temperatures
- Relative humidity
- CO2 concentration and demand control ventilation
- Operation of the ceiling fans
- Levels of lighting
