How do we give instructions?

When we give instructions to people, we can use
the imperative. The positive form of the
imperative is the same as the base form of a
verb. For the negative form, we add do not
/ dont.

We often use if or when with an imperative to
give directions. We use if to tell people what
they need to do if they want to do something or
if something happens. We use when to
show at what moment people should do something.
If you want to go to the market, turn left at the
