Title: Existing ATF extraction line plus final focus optics
1Existing ATF extraction line plus final focus
optics
2Blue dashed- existing extraction line Red new
final focus
version from Shigeru Kuroda
3Existing ATF extraction line (converted from SAD
to MAD by Mauro Pivi) Note a need to include
sextupole errors in bends (M.Woodley)
4Extraction FF FF optics with IP bx,y
13.5,0.1mm, hx 0.072 rad, L2m.
5- Bandwidth, etc., shown on the next slides
obtained with MAD and tracking done with TURTLE - The FF optics was optimized with SAD
- There maybe some differences between these codes
(to be checked!), so, the bandwidth results are
preliminary! - Mauro Pivi and Toshiyuki Okugi are working on
cross check with SAD
6Original existing extraction line FF
72nd order dispersion zeroed y-chromaticity
minimized at the exit of extraction line (see
further below)
8Bandwidth obtained by TURTLE tracking of
(extractionFF) when 2nd order dispersion
y-chrom. zeroed at the exit of extraction line
Note again, that there may be difference of
tracking with Turtle and SAD, and possibly that
tracking with SAD will show better bandwidth.
Need to check this !
9Blue dashed- existing extraction line Red new
final focus
another possible version
10Existing extraction line
Final bend is not used
112nd order dispersion in the existing extraction
line
2nd order dispersion zeroed y-chromaticity
minimized at the exit of extraction line with
three sextupoles (marked with red)
12Existing extraction FF FF optics with IP bx,y
4,0.1mm, hx 0.14 rad, L1m.
13(No Transcript)
14Bandwidth of (extractionff) obtained by TURTLE
tracking
Note that extraction line apertures were
increased. Extraction line probably would not
pass the beam with 1 without losses (due to
large dispersion).
15Optics status
- Two versions of FF optics were combined with
existing extraction line optics - Two more versions need to be produced
- extraction line going to GLCTA are FF
