Living by Faith What is Unseen
  • Romans 4 He is the father of us all
(Abraham). As it is written "I have made you a
father of many nations. He is our father in the
sight of God, in whom he believed the God who
gives life to the dead and calls things that are
    not as though they were.
  • 2 Corinthians 57 We live by faith, not by
    sight.

3
Seek First the Kingdom of God. Mt. 633
  • Mark 411 He told them, The secret of the
kingdom of God has been given to you.
  • Luke 112 (Jesus said) "When you pray, say "
'Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom
    come.
  • Luke 1720,21Jesus replied, "The kingdom of God
does not come with your careful observation, nor
will people say, 'Here it is,' or 'There it is,'
because the kingdom of God is within you.
  • Luke 2229 And I confer on you a kingdom, just
as my Father conferred one on me

4
Seek First the Kingdom of God. Mt. 633
  • If you seek the Kingdom of God first, youll
    experience it.

5
Abigail - 1 Sam. 25
  • This story follows Samuel Anointing David as
future king, story of Goliath, Samuels death.
  • Then David moved down into the Desert of Maon. A
certain man in Maon, who had property there at
Carmel, was very wealthy. He had a thousand goats
and three thousand sheep, which he was shearing
in Carmel. His name was Nabal and his wife's name
was Abigail. She was an intelligent and beautiful
woman, but her husband, a Calebite, was surly and
    mean in his dealings.

6
Abigail - 1 Sam. 25
  • "Go up to Nabal at Carmel and greet him in my
name. Say to him 'Long life to you! Good health
to you and your household! And good health to all
that is yours! your flocks and shepherds were
kept safe Therefore be favorable toward my young
men, since we come at a festive time. Please give
your servants and your son David whatever you can
    find for them.' "

7
Abigail - 1 Sam. 25
  • Nabal answered, "Who is this David? Who is this
son of Jesse? Many servants are breaking away
from their masters these days. Why should I take
my bread and water, and the meat I have
slaughtered for my shearers, and give it to men
    coming from who knows where?"

8
Abigail Acts
  • Abigail lost no time. She took two hundred loaves
of bread, two skins of wine, five dressed sheep,
five seahs of roasted grain, a hundred cakes of
raisins and two hundred cakes of pressed figs,
and loaded them on donkeys. Then she told her
servants, "Go on ahead I'll follow you." But she
did not tell her husband Nabal.

9
Abigail to David
  • "Now since the LORD has kept you, my master, from
bloodshed and from avenging yourself with your
own hands, as surely as the LORD lives and as you
live, may your enemies and all who intend to harm
my master be like Nabal. And let this gift, which
your servant has brought to my master, be given
to the men who follow you. Please forgive your
servant's offense, for the LORD will certainly
make a lasting dynasty for my master, because he
fights the LORD's battles. Let no wrongdoing be
found in you as long as you live.

10
Abigail to David
  • Even though someone is pursuing you to take your
life, the life of my master will be bound
securely in the bundle of the living by the LORD
your God. But the lives of your enemies he will
hurl away as from the pocket of a sling. When the
LORD has done for my master every good thing he
promised concerning him and has appointed him
leader over Israel, my master will not have on
his conscience the staggering burden of needless
bloodshed or of having avenged himself. And when
the LORD has brought my master success, remember
    your servant."

11

    less.

13
Dark Days of John the Baptist Matt. 11
  • In Prison he sent his disciples to ask him,
"Are you the one who was to come, or should we
    expect someone else?"
  • Jesus replied, "Go back and report to John what
you hear and see The blind receive sight, the
lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the
deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news
is preached to the poor. Blessed is the man who
does not fall away on account of me."

14
Kingdom Strategy of Jesus
  • Matthew 11 Then what did you go out to see? A
prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a
prophet. This is the one about whom it is
written " 'I will send my messenger ahead of
you, who will prepare your way before you. I
tell you the truth Among those born of women
there has not risen anyone greater than John the
Baptist yet he who is least in the kingdom of
    heaven is greater than he

15
Kingdom Strategy of Jesus
  • From the days of John the Baptist until now,
the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully
advancing, and forceful men lay hold of it. For
all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until
John. And if you are willing to accept it, he is
the Elijah who was to come. He who has ears, let
    him hear.

16
Onesiphorus Apostle Paul
  • 2 Timothy 18, 9 Paul to Timothy So do
not be ashamed to testify about our Lord, or
ashamed of me his prisoner. But join with me in
suffering for the gospel, by the power of God,
who has saved us and called us to a holy lifenot
because of anything we have done but because of
his own purpose and grace. This grace was given
us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time

17
Onesiphorus Apostle Paul
  • V15-18 You know that everyone in the province
of Asia has deserted me, including Phygelus and
Hermogenes. May the Lord show mercy to the
household of Onesiphorus, because he often
refreshed me and was not ashamed of my chains. On
the contrary, when he was in Rome, he searched
hard for me until he found me. May the Lord grant
that he will find mercy from the Lord on that
day! You know very well in how many ways he
    helped me in Ephesus.

18
Kingdom Strategy of Onesiphorus
  • If you seek the Kingdom of God first youll see
    the Kingdom.
  • Support your spiritual leaders - even against the
    nap.
  • Speak the coming Kingdom of God to others. This
is who you are in Jesus!
  • Even in dark days
  • He saw beyond the natural
  • Often refreshed Paul
  • Honored Paul while experiencing prison
  • Refreshed Paul in prison
  • Search for Paul hard in Rome

19
