BACKGROUND

• Malaysia has to date not yet decided on the DTTB
  standard to be adopted.
• Report of the Working Party 1/4 under the
  Broadcasting Services of the DTTB Sub Group
  recommended that DVB-T to be adopted as the
  Malaysian DTTB standard (yr 2000).
• RTM intend to start DTTB trial service in 2006.

CHRONOLOGY

• 2001 MCMC establish WG within the industry to
  conduct and recommend a DTTB standard for
  Malaysia
• 2002 Draft proposal by WG was submitted to
  MCMC recommended DVB-T standard
• 2003 Public Consultation exercise was
  conducted by MCMC on the Guideline for the
  Implementation of DTTB in Malaysia
