Christian Obligation
  • Titus 21315

3
Something To Think About
  • By reading through the book (and other passages
mentioning him), it is easy to surmise he was a
person of strength, energy, and decisiveness.
What can you learn about his character and
philosophy of ministry? How did he treat other
    people?

4
KEY VERSE

Titus 211 For the grace of God that bringeth
salvation hath appeared to all men.
5
  • Lesson Objectives
  • To analyze the standards of Christian living
  • To anticipate the return of Christ
  • To accentuate godly conduct in expectancy of
    Christs return

6
  • Christian Behavior
  • Titus 2110
  • The Aged (15)
  • James 57-8
  • The Young (68)
  • The Servant ( 9-10)

7
  • In these verses we have considered, the message
comes through loud and clearevery Christians
life should show forth the truth of the gospel.
Christians have been freed from the guilt and
penalty of sin they possess a new life from God
the Holy Spirit now lives in them. Aged men, aged
women, young women, young men, and servantsare
    all to serve God.

8
  • Christian Beliefs
  • Titus 21115
  • Salvation (11)
  • Sanctification (12)
  • Second Coming (1315)

9
  • How very wonderful that salvation is for
everyoneno one is excluded. This is the
marvelous story of redemption we are to preach,
teach, proclaim, and tell. All are lost, but all
may be saved, if they only repent of sin and
    believe in Christ as Savior.

10
  • Christian Basics
  • Titus 318
  • Citizenship (1-2)
  • Character (38)
  • John 35 Ephesians 526

11
  • People cannot see our true inner motives or our
faith, but they can see our good works that come
    forth from proper belief.

12
  • Christian Banes
  • Titus 3911
  • The Unprofitable (9)
  • The Unbelieving (10-11)

13
  • It is never easy to deal with differences or with
problems. Minor differences should be ignored.
But major differences, especially those relating
to the basic truths of Gods Word, cannot be
ignored. They have to be faced. When errors of
doctrine are explained and people who have held
them are sorry and repent, then the matter is
settled. But if they will not change, then a
church should follow Pauls advice to Titus.

14
  • Christian Biddings
  • Titus 31215
  • Suggestions (12-13)
  • Acts 204 Ephesians 621-22 Colossians 47-8 2
    Timothy 412 1 Corinthians 112 346 46
    1612
  • Salutations (14-15)

15
  • In this final section we see something of Pauls
relationship to his special friends. All of these
had gathered around Paul to assist him, directly
or indirectly with his ministry. Paul trusted his
friends and relied on them. His ministry was
greatly enhanced because of his friends. All of
us should cultivate good Christian friends. We
are all social beings and we need others. Blessed
is the person who has friends.

16
  • QUESTIONS FOR STUDY AND DISCUSSION
  • 1. What positive incentive is there for a
Christian to be a good employee?
  • 2. What does the word sound mean as it is used in
    22 and 8?
  • 3. What is the key word of this epistle?
  • 4. What is the role of good works in a
    Christians life?
  • 5. What was Titus to do with heretics? Why is
    church discipline so infrequently exercised?
  • 6. What does Paul say older women are to teach
younger women? Do the older women in your church
teach these things to younger women?
