• Bera means gift and Sodom means burning.
• Melchizedek means king of righteousness, and
  Salem means peace. (Hebrews 71-4).

• ALLEGIANCE means who we are loyal and obedient
  to.
• ORIENTATION is to whom our life is aligned to.
• Thus, the bigger and broader issue is not tithing
  but stewardship.

What is stewardship? 1 Chronicles 2910-14

• Stewardship means
• Everything we have comes from God.
• Everything we have is owned by God.

• We are entrusted to manage what rightfully
  belongs to God.
• We are stewards, not co-owners with God.

II. TITHING, NOT DONATING

• To tithe is to give God 10 percent, whether of
  money, farm produce, or animals. (The Heb. word
  means ten.)

II. GIVING TO GOD, NOT TO THE CHURCH

• We do not give our tithes and offerings to the
  church, the pastor, or the members of the finance
  committee but to God.

• Grace giving (2 Corinthians 96-8)
• Tithing is a good place to start giving.
• But learn to give more as your faith and grace
  increases.
