What Parkinson is?

• Parkinsons Disease is a disorder that takes over
  your life. The thinks you used to be able to do
  you can not do anymore. Parkinsons Disease was
  said to be caused by the progressive disorder of
  the Nervous System. But more research has been
  studied and they have a better understanding of
  this disorder, and they can slow down the loss of
  muscle control that the patients suffer from.
• DBS is a surgery when they implant an electrode
  in the brain that provides an continuous
  electrical current, which improves the symptoms
  of the disease and ever the side effects of the
  medication.

What causes you to have Parkinsons

• There is many ideas and theories of what causes
  Parkinsons but they think that Familial
  Parkinsons is one of the big ones. This is an
  inherited form of the disease. There has been
  other speculations that there is another faulty
  gene that is causing this. Over 60 of all cases
  are diagnosed with idiopathic Parkinsons disease
  and that cause is unknown.

Treatments for Parkinsons

• A new treatment that recently been discovered
  called a Deep Brain Stimulation. Even though it
  is not a cure it helps the people with
  Parkinsons to control there debilitating
  symptoms. People that have Parkinsons disease
  take the medication called Dopamine Agonists.
  This medication has been used for a long time but
  within the last five years has been told to have
  side effects. Some people can not take this
  medication because of the effect so the Deep
  Brain Stimulation would be good for them to do.

• Staying Active
• These roles are important for the persons Health
  because if they do not do this stuff there
  Parkinsons with get worse and there will be
  nothing for the mental and physical pain that
  they will suffer. They will not be able to do
  anything on there own.

The Cures for Parkinsons

• There is no Cure yet for this Disease. They have
  been working on the cure of a long time. They
  have other things that you can take or get done
  to help you live longer and try to live a normal
  life. People believe that the Deep Brain
  Stimulation could be a start of a Cure for
  Parkinsons. It is the best thing for the people
  that have Parkinsons in a high level.
  Researchers have been trying to find a Cure for
  sometime now and think that DBS is a start of a
  good discovery.

Symptoms of Parkinsons

• Rigidity- Increased tone or when your muscles
  stiffen up and it is hard to move them on your
  own.
• Tremor- Is a symptom that most people call PD.
  It can effect limbs and sometimes effects the
  head, neck, face, and Jaw.
• Brandykinesia- means slowness of movement. This
  is when it effects your delay movement.
• Poor Balance- This happens mostly when the
  person has PD.
• Walking problems
• The Secondary symptom include any of these listed
  depression, sleep disturbances, dizziness,
  stooped posture, constipation, dementia, and
  problems with speech, breathing, swallowing, and
  sexual function.
