• The team for online course development consists
  of
• Subject matter experts
• Instructional Designers
• Web Programmers
• Graphics Designers
• Each team member has its own role and requires
  communication with other teams members

Web Programmers role

• Co-ordination with Instructional Designer
• Get input on the course requirements
• Select authoring tool to be used in development
• Co-ordination with Graphic Designer
• Format requirements according to the course
• Training of software (authoring tools) used in
  course development, as workshops, seminars, etc.

Co-ordination / Workflow

• Contents usually as a MS Word or HTML document,
  with explanations on how to organize it
• Scripts or snippets of code are sometimes
  required to fulfill this requirements
• Obtain graphics / animation from graphics
  designer and author as a multimedia piece
• Upload to LMS (WebCT) for input to verify the
  requirements requested

Training workshops

• Provide hands-on training on authoring tool usage
• Macromedia Authorware training workshop offered
  once every semester
• Usage of ready-made templates for different types
  of online courses in Authorware using Knowledge
  Objects (under preparation)
