8Why 14-19 partnerships?
Oxfordshire 14-19 Strategy Developing Young
People
- We want institutions in each locality to work
together to decide how best to deliver the 14-19
offer, with each institution able to play to its
strengths. - We want the system to be driven bottom-up by
partnerships of schools, colleges and other
providers who together decide how they are best
placed to make a comprehensive offer to young
people. But there is also an important role for
local authorities and local LSCs to facilitate
and enable this planning and to challenge
partners if there are gaps in provision. - (DfES Education and Skills Feb 2005)
