• Annual series of 4-6 web-based MCH DataSpeaks
  providing skills building
• Support MCH epidemiology doctoral students who
  use state or local data for their dissertation
• Support CDC/HRSA program on state-based MCH
  epidemiologists
• Co-sponsor the MCH Epidemiology conf.
• With CDC, sponsor training opportunities through
  AMCHP at the MCH Epidemiology Conference

NATIONAL SURVEY ON CHILD HEALTH

• HRSA/MCHB Partnership with CDC/NCHS
• Identifies 2000 children per state by random
  digit dialing telephone survey
• Gathers information on the physical, mental, and
  emotional health of children
• Survey collection January 2003-May 2004

CARE NEEDS

• HRSA/MCHB Partnership with CDC/NCHS
• Identifies 750-1000 children per state by random
  digit dialing telephone survey
• Gathers information on the health care
  experiences and needs of CSHCN and their families
  
• Survey collection begins January 2005

HEALTH BEHAVIORS OF SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN SURVEY

• Quadrennial survey of 15,000 US children in
  6th--10th grades
• Information compared to 30 other countries
  conducting the same survey
• Co-sponsored by NICHD and HRSA/DCAFH
• Next survey to begin in 2005
• Goal is to provide background information on
  adolescent health behavior in support of MCHB
  programs
