- Free choice of didactical approach
- No compulsory schedule of lessons/courses
- Compulsory number of contact hours
- Compulsory minimum of workplacement
- Strong link to the regional situation and
agreements with regional companies

- The courses are divided in 4 levels
- 2 learning pathways leading to the same
qualification with possibility of changeovers - School based students, 346.000 enrolments
- Work based employees, 139.000 enrolments
(apprenticeship system)

- Level 2 basic vocational training, leading to
fledgling qualified tradesman level - Level 3 vocational training, leading to
independent tradesman level - Level 4 middle-management and specialist
