• Procedures from application to commencement are
  lengthy
• Be patient

• Some employers will visit and interview on campus
  (e.g. WDW) others will use telephone interviews
  (e.g. Sheraton) or web applications

• All students must have a valid visa normally
  arranged through CIEE and USIT
• All students must have insurance
• can be arranged through university
• 4.20 per week for USA (as a guideline ONLY)

• Visa arranged through CIEE council for
  international exchange are employer specific
• The employer sponsors you
• You cannot move to another employer if you are
  dissatisfied

• Insurance approx cost 200
• Flight to USA approx. 450
• Plus basic start up costs 1000
• Rent, deposit, transport
• Medical examination/ drug testing costs

• Placement office must be given a copy of your
  insurance documents visa application
• Students are responsible for making own travel
  arrangements but placement office must be kept
  advised

• Before you leave to go on placement make 3 copies
  of all documents and keep each copy in a separate
  location
