    power cut, etc
  • Supplier problems - supplier fails, bankruptcy
    etc

    issues

  • Who tells who?
  • Whos making decisions?
  • Recovery of services
  • What do you need?
  • When do you need them?
  • Think people, desks, equipment/resources, IT etc

  • But the peak is a few weeks
  • How many staff do you need
  • in which teams
  • with which skills?
  • Where else can you get staff from?
  • Identify and remove any dependence on individual
    people!

Making sure it works
  • Walk through the plan
  • Familiarise staff with their roles
  • Make sure details are correct
  • Is it clear, is it logical, is it realistic?
  • Make sure you keep it up to date
  • Check contact details often
  • Review the whole plan annually at least
  • Make sure you can lay your hands on it!!

If you do nothing else
  • Check you back up your data regularly, and store
    it off site
  • Check you are insured, and that it covers
    business continuity risks
  • Make sure you have key contact details accessible
