24Development Issues
- What is missing is the -
- Will of the pharmacists
- Awareness of the people
- Recognition of the society
25Development Plans BAPA and BPS Joint efforts
- What we need are
- Motivation of Pharmacists to get to community

- Investment
- Social awareness
26Development Plans BAPA and BPS Joint efforts
- Non-resident Pharmacists-
- Willing to invest in Bangladesh may come forward
with his knowledge, experience, skills and fund. - He/she should engage 3-5 young pharmacists as
partner or employee.
27Development Plans BAPA and BPS Joint efforts
- What we need are
- These young pharmacists should be trained in the
USA and Bangladesh. - Then the group should set up single or chain
pharmacies at the commercially viable locations.
28Development Plans BAPA and BPS Joint efforts
There should be an organized campaign to generate
social awareness on benefits that society as well
as an individual may derive from the community
pharmacies.

pharmacy system in Bangladesh. Team members were
Mr. Phil Wiffen (UK), Mrs. Sunmonu (Nigeria), Mr.
Salim Khan Mr. Abu Jamil Ferdous. The detailed
reports and action plans were submitted to the

got lost in bureaucratic chaos.

1993, 13th January BPS and CPA leaders held a
one-hour meeting with the then Prime

hospital pharmacy system by appointing 10
pharmacists at IPGMR as the first batch. CPA
agreed to organize training of the first batch at
the Churchil Hospital, Oxford, UK. All other
decisions were implemented within the same year
but the hospital pharmacy issue got blocked by
the bureaucracy.
