• Ethnocentrism leads many people to believe that
  the practices accepted by the culture in which
  they live are the only right or natural ways
  to behave

• Children/Adolescents want to hear it from their
  parents. Its more effective, they trust their
  parents.
• Parents who accept their childs sexuality and
  help them learn to cope, have a better chance of
  raising healthy and sexually responsible children

• Inadequate sex education in the U.S. leads all
  others in rates of teen pregnancy and abortion
• Sex education programs arent funded in the
  schools, teachers are uncomfortable with it
