Tingvoll Bunda (Tanzania)

• Tingvoll and Bunda district have had relationship
  through VNS (Friendship north/south) since 1990.
• The focus has been on contact between
• schools
• churches
• support from individuals in Tingvoll to home for
  orphans in Bunda
• exchange of Peacecoare participants between
  Bunda and Bioforsk Økologiske / Norsk bonde- og
  småbrukerlag .

• Bunda township authority is a new local
  government.
• The town was previously part of Bunda district,
  but was in 2007 divided from the district.
• The town has 34 000 inhabitants and has been
  transferred budget and some staff since July
  2007.

Project purposes

• The main purposes of the project are
• to increase the administrative skills and
  capacity of Bunda township
• to increase integration of environmental
  development in local plans and activities
• to increase the participation of local NGOs and
  CBOs taking care of orphans and old people in
  Bunda

What does our partnership want to achieve until
2009?

• The two partnerships shall have a common
  understanding of the purposes off the
  programme.
• Improved competence in administrative processing
• Improved administrative skills
• Improved awareness/competence on laws and rules
  related to local government
• Increased competence in using data software
• Start planning a tree-planting project for CO2
  management/treatment funded by Tingvolls CO2
  quota
