Developing the Vision

• Initial Brainstorming Session

• didnt want a talking shop
• didnt want it to be supplier driven
• wanted to achieve something tangable
• wanted recognition for SOCITM YH at regional
  level

• Recognised the need for resources
• LGOL bid for regional support
• Close involvement with Regional Assembly for
  Yorkshire and Humber
• Submitted feedback on e-Region strategy
  (developed by RDA)
• Active agenda and meetings based around
  presentations and discussion

• reasonable levels of attendance
• now developed a business plan
• asked to be involved in European projects (3

• cant get a seat at the table with the RDA
  (Yorkshire Forward)
• havent yet developed action based meetings
  joined up projects

Conclusions

• Early days long way to go
• Only works with someone enthusiastic driving the
  agenda forward
• To really be pro-active, need additional paid
  resources (hence LGOL bid)
