Into Alive

• Students will do limited research on a topic
  (plane crashes, survival skills, the Andes
  Mountains, altitude sickness, rugby football,
  religion, etc.)
• Students will give oral presentation to the class
• A written paper on the same topic will be due
  after oral presentation

Through Alive

• While reading, students will complete 10 Double
  Entry Journals on a selected survivor
• DEJs should focus on characters strengths,
  weakness interactions with others
• DEJs become a pre write for culminating activities

Beyond Alive (Culminating Activity)

• Students will write a personal essay
• Focus qualities for successful living
  using the writing
  process
• Students will complete an essay on the character
  tracked through the book (using
• Double Entry Journals as a pre write)
