• Challenge, re-frame, or extend it

• When is the manuscript ready for submission?
• Contribution is clear to those not intimate with
  your research
• Manuscript conforms to the style sheet

• Brace for the blow to your pridethey hurt but
  are rarely fatal
• Get help reading your reviews!!!
• Restate in your own words
• Respond to reviewers, associate editor, editor
• Insufficient/Inappropriate contribution?
• May need to target another venue
• Disagreement over contribution?
• Listen to the market but do not sell your soul
