Overview

• Node Lock License
• The licenses are locked to a "dongle".
• You can be used on any machine where
• the dongle (and its license) is installed.
• PC Lock License
• The licenses are locked to a particular
  PC.
• You cannot be used on any other PC.
• Floating License
• The licenses are locked to a server PC,
  which can grant the licenses to users on the
  network.

How do Licenses work ?

• Every license is locked to some identification
  from your machine, called the Server Code"
• Node Lock licenses are locked to the dongles
  Server Code"
• Computer-locked licenses are locked to the PCs
  Server Code"
• Floating licenses are locked to the license
  server PCs Server Code"

How is Server Code generated ?

• Node Lock License
• GHS License (ELAN) generates automatically
• the server code based on the dongle information
  when you request a license.
• Floating and PC LOCK License
• GHS License (ELAN) generates automatically
• the server code based on the PCs information.
• They are Host Name, MAC Address, Hard Disk ID.
• and others.

Node Lock License

• Who are suitable for Node Lock License?
• Engineer sometimes uses GHS products at outside.
• Engineer does not develop their programs under
  their Net Work.
• Customer who purchases one or two licenses.
• Customer who is not familiar with GHS Floating
  License.
• Features
• Mobility, Simplicity ,Security,
• Compiler Speed is faster than Floating.

How to request a Node Lock License

• Please insert a dongle to your PC printer port.
• (Never forget to connect before invoking
  licinfoe.exe below.)
• Please invoke the C\Green/ licinfoe.exe. Please
  fill in the license request.
• Please send it to license_at_adac.co.jp
• License key file (license.key) replies mailing
  after our company receives your license request
  mail.
• licinfo.exe will create two directories, nodes
  and keys.
• nodes directory is for Node Lock License.
• keys directory is for Floating License.

How to request license STEP 1

• Please invoke the C\Green/ licinfoe.exe

Glick OK
Select the type of license. In this case,the
license should be Permanent Node Lock.
Inter all your serial No. The Serial NO should be
on the CD-ROM package.

How to request license STEP 2
Copy all your information from Edit function.

• The following window is coming out.

We will give a license that is only compatible
with the Server Code. The dongle always generate
same Server Code.
The Server code is coming out automatically.
Server Code for Node Lock license has to start
from 65536.
Send this information to license_at_adac.co.jp

How to request license STEP 3

• You will receive a license file from Adac.
• Please place the license file C\/Green/nodes.
• Install the license file from C\/Green/instkey.ex
  e.
• You can install the license file from the
  following window.

Click Install

Notice for Node Lock License

• PC running Win2000 and NT cannot detect a dongle.
• Run C\Green/j32siv10.exe once before you
  generate a license request. If PC detect the
  dongle, the server codewill start from 65536.
• Enter hostid from Dos command.If your PC detects
  the dongle, your KEY ID will be showed on the
  screen.
• Your dongle always generate the same Server Code.
• Our license is only for specific Server Code
  requested by you.So, you have to insert the
  dongle whenever you use MULTI.
• If you do not insert a dongle, your PC will
  generate differentServer Code. And then, MULTI
  will not work.Because, the Sever Code is not
  compatible with your license.

Trouble shooting for Node Lock License

• Do you insert a dongle to your printer port?
• Does your PC detect a dongle?
• If you use Win2000/NT,
• please run C\Green/j32siv10.exe once before
• Did you place a license file to correct
  directory?
• Please check C\Green/wkeydir.exe

Your Node Lock license file should be indicated
directory.

• You can check the Sever Code status from
  C\Green/wlmadmin.exe

Where is your license file.
In case of NodeLock License The Server Code has
to start from 65536.

PC Lock License

• A license is fixed to PC carried out for the
  license request.
• In other words, the license is fixed to the
  sever code generated by the PC.
• Once, you change host OS,host name,the server
  code will be changing.And then, you will not use
  MULTI any more.
• PC Lock License is only for
• OCD Server Raven or WigglerIn this case,
  License type must be Floating or PC Lock.
• Evaluation purpose. Permission is necessary.

Floating License

• Who are suitable for Floating License?
• Engineer uses GHS product under the network.
• Customer develops programs with many engineers.
• Customer uses Raven or Wiggler.
• Features
• Flexibility of license combination. Ex) 1
  compiler , 3 MULTI, 3 Server
• Floating License allows to use GHS products any
  client PCs that can get a license from the Server
  PC.

Floating License
GHS License Manager run on Server PC. The license
request must be generating from Sever PC.
Sever PC must be win95/98/NT. Win2000 is not
suitable.

How to install GHS Package for Floating License.

• There are 2 ways to install GHS Package.
• Pattern A Install the package to only the
  exposed directory on the Server PC.
• Advantages and Disadvantages.
• It is easy to version up the GHS Package because
  you installed the package only the Server PC.
• Operating speed of MULTI is a little slower than
  pattern B.

How to install GHS Package for Floating License.

• There are 2 ways to install GHS Package.
• Pattern B Install the package to both
  Server PC and every Client PC.
• Advantages and Disadvantages.
• You have to reinstall GHS Package to every PC
  when you do version up.
• Operating speed of MULTI is a little bit faster
  than pattern A.

Install the package to Server PC.
Generate License Request from Server PC.
Install the package to every client.

How to request a Floating License

• Please install the package to the Server PC.
• Please invoke the C\Green/ licinfoe.exe. Please
  fill in the license request.
• Please send it to license_at_adac.co.jp
• License key file (license.key) replies mailing
  after our company receives your license request
  mail.
• licinfo.exe will create two directories, nodes

• The keys directory is for Floating License.
• The nodes directory is for Node Lock License.

Notice for Floating License

• Do not change following environments of Server
  PC.
• Please do not change OS, Host Name, Host ID,
  Hard Disk ID.
• Once you change one of them after your license
  request,
• your Server PC will generate a different Server
  Code.
• And then your MULTI will not work any more.
• Our license file is only compatible with the
  Server Code
• generated by your license request.
• Change of Client PC environment will not affect
  to MULTI.

Trouble shooting for Floating License.

• Is your License Manager running on your Server PC
  ?
• this can be done from the Elan LM in the Windows
  Control Panel.
• Did you set environment variable to your client
  PC ?
• In case of Win NT and Win 2000 as client's OS
• "Control Panel" -gt "System" -gt "Environment
• Vriables" Variable Name GHS_LMHOST Variable
  Value _at_Server Name (ex. _at_master1)
• In case of Win95/98/Me as client's OS
• Please add the command below in autoexec.bat.
• set GHS_LMHOST_at_server name
• (ex. set GHS_LMHOST_at_master1)
• If you do not do this, the tools use a broadcast
  to find a server,
• which is unreliable.

• Is your Server Code the same as your license
  file?
• If your Server Code is different, you need a new
  license file.
• Please check your Server Code from
  C\Green/wlmadmin.exe

Where is your license file.
The Server Code must be the same as your license
file.
