  • Meter Calibration
  • 1. Determine preliminary pH of sample to decide
    which buffers to use for two point calibration.
  • If pH lt 7.00 select 7.00 4.00
  • or
  • If pH gt 7.00 select 7.00 10.00

  • Calibrate meter in a contamination free
    environment. Avoid direct sunlight, rain, and
    blowing dust.
  • Remove electrode from storage solution
  • Rinse with distilled water and blot
  • Place electrode in the 7.00 buffer

  • P2 will appear in display

  • Rinse with distilled water and blot
  • Place electrode in second buffer (determined in

  • Collect sample
  • Analyze sample within 15 minutes of collection
  • Rinse the electrode with distilled water and blot
  • Pour sample in container to a depth that covers
    sensing elements of the electrode
  • Place the electrode in sample and stir gently

  • Record pH to nearest tenth (0.1)
  • Record temperature to nearest degree
  • Rinse electrode and return to storage bottle
