• Campus has provided new benefit rates for budget
  preparation
• New rates are in preparation for the new
  retirement contribution
• Responsibility for adhering to the new benefits
  fall on the departments

NIH Updates Salary Cap

• The new NIH Salary Cap is 196,700
• Reminder only use this salary rate for NIH or
  agencies that indicate in their policies/
  proposal guidelines that the NIH salary cap is
  required.
• All other proposals require the use of the
  investigators true salary or a salary cap is
  required.

NIH Updates Clinical Trial Registry

• Changes in the FDA Act may affect clinical trials
  reporting obligations for PIs
  
• The change in the law mandates both the
  registration and posting of results for certain
  trials Failure to do either task within the
  prescribed timeframes results in publicly
  accessible Notices of Noncompliance being posted
  on Clinicaltrials.gov, and also can result in
  financial penalties.
• NIH has developed detailed information and
  technical assistance materials to facilitate
  compliance with registration and results
  reporting which may be found at

NIH Updates Adobe Forms

• Abobe submission is very slow with many bugs in
  their system
• All electronic proposals including K awards and
  R21s/ R03s will need to be finalized two business
  days prior to the deadline to guarantee
  successful submission.
• Use Adobe Reader version 8.1.3 to prepare
  proposal
