Minute 3 Why have an Enterprise Program?
engineeringentrepreneurship
engineering research
engineeringpractice
Its one thing to be an engineer and quite
another to be an entrepreneur, but Michigan Tech
offers its students an opportunity to be both.
Its called the Enterprise Program and its growth
is surpassing all expectations with more than 400
students participating from both the College of
Engineering and the School of Business and
Economics. from Blazing and Entrepreneurial
Trail ASEE Prism MagazineApril 2003
"On-campus programs like this one provide Bechtel
a way to see how students -- potential employees
-- put their skills to work addressing the
demands of business, including managing cost,
schedule, and customer expectations . . . The
Michigan Tech program has produced
high-performing candidates with a desire to work
for Bechtel because they've experienced firsthand
what its like inside the company. from the

Minute 4 What is the Enterprise Program?
A curriculum option that gives a team of students
from varied disciplines the opportunity to work
for several years in a business-like setting to
solve real-world engineering problems supplied by
industry.
Each enterprise is run by the students, and is
intended to operate like a company in the private
sector.
