Regional Planning in Tyrol

• The Challenge
• In a mountainous region like Tirol the
  development of society and economy will be
  influenced heavily by physical conditions. Daily
  activity and mobility of population will take
  place within extended but often narrow valleys,
  which cover only 12 percent of landscape.
  Additionally the situation is endorsed by
  pronounced tourism and strong transit traffic.
• The Mission
• Life conditions and economic development are
  most often determined by privat and public
  decisions. Regional planning will offer a
  framework of governance, wich accords social and
  economic demands with natural and cultural
  functions of space.
• The Procedure
• Regional Programmes like RP on skiing areas,
  golf courses or agricultural priority areas are
  legal regulations. Regional Plans are commitments
  of good practise promised by the Regional
  Government. Actually in work is an overall
  concept called FutureSpace to work out serious
  strategies of spatial development.
