Importance Of Spiritual Growth

• Growth is not optional but a command!
• Just like any other command (2 Pet 317-18)
• Theres a time-table on our growth (Heb 512ff)
• God provides all we need to accomplish this,
  including teachers! (Eph. 411-12)
• Its necessary in overcoming sin
• It provides the strength determination to win
  the battle over sin (2 Pet. 19-11)
• Weakness sets in, guard goes down, sin
  becomes a present reality!

  heart for the Lord!
• One who appreciates the Lord! (2 Pet. 21-3)
• One who delights in the law of God (Ps. 11ff)
• Can I really say I love God and delight in His
  if I dont enjoy Bible class?

• Some view it as an option
• May say, God never said you have to go to
  Bible class! (Luke 1027-28)
• He really just does not want to come at all!
• He will probably look for reasons excuses
• These are dressed up lies! (Luke 1418-20)
• This man never grows, but remains as a babe in
  Christ! (Heb. 512)

• Some view it as an obligation
• He comes because he HAS to - Its a sense of
  duty! (Heb. 1025 I Pet. 318)
• It could be a matter of habitual service (Mal.
  1)
• While he comes, he sees minimal growth at
  best - No transformation!

• He sees it as an opportunity to come to know
  Christ more! (Mat. 56 Phil. 310)
• His passion for the Lord and His word is
  clearly evident in class!
• Does anyone question his love devotion?
• The word of God is working in him! (Gal. 220)
• Only those who have Christ in them have any
  hope of glory! (Col. 127)

Getting More Out Of Bible Class

• Teachers
• Have thoughts prepared ready to teach
• Be on time yourself
• Involve others in class as much as possible
• Students
• First of all - COME! Cant benefit if not
  there!
• Be on time!
• Have your lesson prepared participate!
• Parents have responsibility
• Emphasize Bible study! Teach spiritual values
• Know what theyre studying work with them
• Make sure theyre there, on time, prepared!

  need to be spiritually?
• All there types of people weve discussed are
  here this morning! Which are you?
• Your attitude toward Bible class is a
  reflection of your love for the Lord!
