Elizabeth Arnold Hopkins He was born in Boston
Jan. 19th 1809 He started his career writing for
the Philadelphia Saturday Courier Poes career
really didnt become big until 1837

• His father left his family when Edgar was only 1
  year old.
• He was dishonorably discharged from the united
  States military Academy in west point.
• He married his first cousin who was only 13,
  while he was 18.
• Disappeared for a couple of days just prior to
  his death.
