- Around April, my body starts acting weird
- I was moody, my back would sometimes ache and I
had a hard time walking. - I didnt have much of an appetite either
- My mommy and daddy brought me to the Doctor but
she couldnt seem to find anything wrong with me. - One day, I was limping and couldnt move my left
leg.
23- We go back to my Doctor and I have to get shots
at the lab. - The blood tests didnt look that much out of the
ordinary so I took Tylenol. - Just to be safe, my Doctor sent us to Lucile
Packard Childrens Hospital at Stanford for
tests. - More blood tests and x-rays
24- I was admitted and stayed at the hospital for a
week so they can run tests on my back, arms and
legs. - After a week, I felt better and we went home.
- Another week goes by and my body starts aching
again. This time I cant lift up my arms - My mommy daddy are worried

possibility of Leukemia. - The results take 2 days
29June 30, 2005
- I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblast Leukemia
- Mommy daddy are very sad and cry. Daddy was
very angry. - I have to stay at the hospital so they can start
my treatment right away. - The first night I was very scared. I dont want
to be in the hospital.
30- I was poked in my arm about 7 times that night.
It really hurt so I sat on my daddys lap while
he held me. - I was given my first chemo medicine and the next
day I felt so much better! - I thought it was over because I was able to run
and jump again. - Mommy daddy tell me its going to be a long
time before my treatment is over.
31When I get moody...
- I dont mean to...Its not me, its the
medication - I sometimes dont act like my usual happy self
because I have to take so many pills and Im not
able to do a lot of the stuff I want to because I
might get sick. - Being in the same room with someone who has a
cough can be dangerous for me. My daddy was sick
and it took 2 months for me to recover.
32Im brave strong!
- Im used to going to the clinic to get my shots
and chemo medicine. - I dont cry anymore and it doesnt hurt as much.
- All the nurses and doctors say Im so brave and
well mannered.
