  • Lussacs Law just compares the effects of
    Pressure (P) and TEMPERATURE (T)
  • We assume the Volume (V) does not change.

Lets Solve a Problem!
  • A gas has a pressure of 1atm at 300 K (All
    temperatures HAVE to be converted to Kelvins ).
  • At what pressure will the gas have a
    temperature of 350 K?

1. Identify your variables
  • A gas has a pressure of 1 atm (P1) at 300 K
    (T1). At what pressure (P2) will the gas have
    a temperature of 350 K (T2)?

2. Plug values into equation
  • P1/ T1 P2 / T2
  • 1 atm / 300K P2 / 350 K
  • After cross-multiplying to solve for P2, we get
    1.17 atm
