• SimTown is designed to teach students the basic
  concepts behind economics (supply and demand),
  ecology (natural resources, pollution and
  recycling), and city planning (balancing homes,
  businesses and recreation) in a fun,
  easy-to-understand simulation.

Constructivist K-2 development

• At this developmental stage, students are
  learning based on previous knowledge and
  experiences. These previous experiences lend
  themselves to the knowledge that will be gained
  in the lessons.
• This program accounts for what we know about
  students of this stage by having them rely on a
  lot of previous knowledge and experience to
  produce a successful town. Along the way,
  students are also acquiring new knowledge, based
  on conversations with others, and trial and error
  in the building of their town.
