Source cryogenic loads

• e and e- sources are both equivalent to 24 - 25
  standard cryomodules
• Plus, spin rotators
• Plus, some other cryo-magnets
• Bottom line -- assume equivalent to 27 main linac
  cryomodules plus some distribution heat loads

Laboratory manpower

• No separate laboratory manpower estimate for
  source cryogenics was made
• The work was assumed to be part of the main linac
  cryogenic system effort since components
  (cryomodules) are similar, undulators are in the
  main linac, and the cryogenic plants will
  probably be combined with main linac
• FYI, the laboratory cryogenic system labor
  estimate is 47 FTE for 7 years (7 x 47 329
  man-years)
• 47 FTE came from reviewing SSC lab cryogenics
  department staffing
• As I mentioned in my talk at SLAC in Dec 06, this
  assumes
• the major burden of design work as well as
  fabrication is procured from industry
• this laboratory labor force is primarily doing
  specifications, overseeing the procurements, and
  managing final integration and acceptance tests
• conceptual design work is complete before project
  start
