2What is Cyber Bullying?
Cyber bullying is intimidation or harassment
using electronics, including instant messaging,
e-mail, website postings, chat rooms and cell
phones.
If you ever get bullied the four most important
words you should remember are STOP, BLOCK, TALK,
SAVE.
STOP talking to that person and dont talk back.
BLOCK the sender.
TALK to an adult or someone you trust.
SAVE the hurtful message.
3Cyber Bullying
Cyber bullying is a type of bullying that takes
place online. It can be very hurtful to get a
bad or disturbing message. If you are getting
some hurtful messages you should
- Tell an adult that you trust.
- Print threatening messages and go to the police.
- If someone asks you to meet in person always
bring an adult with you. NEVER go alone!
4Forms of Cyber Bullying
- To send e-mails or instant messages containing
insults or threats.
- To spread hateful comments.
- To steal passwords and send out threatening
e-mails.
- etc.
5Cyber Bullying and the Law
Young people like us should be aware that some
forms of cyber bullying can be considered as
criminal acts. For example if someone insults
you or threatens you, you should tell an adult
you trust and then you should go tell a police
officer.
6How To Stay Safe WhileYou're Online
-NEVER give out personal information to someone
you met online. -NEVER arrange to meet someone
you met online without adult supervision. -NEVER
reply to harassing messages. -NEVER trust anyone
you meet online.
-ALWAYS tell an adult you trust. -ALWAYS save
harassing messages and then show the
police. -ALWAYS guard your contact information.
