  • Education Officer 08/09
  • Purpose of this Presentation
  • - Feedback in the past
  • - Comments from you, the student body
  • - Other issues on feedback
  • - Personal experience
  • - Students Union Campaign
  • - Conclusion

43
Aims and Objectives Aims -To increase your
student satisfaction on the quality of feedback
received on your work -To boost UCLan and school
ranking Objectives - To gather lecturer
feedback - To analyse the feedback and pull out
good and bad practice - Compile a comprehensive
report on the findings
44
  • Percentage of Satisfaction from the NSS
  • I am still waiting on 6 or so assignments,
  • most of which were completed before Christmas
  • What can we tell from these results?
  • - There is no trend, we are not severely
declining, but we are getting no better.

45
Open comments from Students - If the feedback
is more than 3 or 4 weeks late the next deadline
should be more flexible. I feel I lost marks due
to this problem - Not too bothered about
feedback given within 15 days, so long as the
feedback is detailed explaining where I went
wrong I dont mind if it takes a bit longer for
important and proper feedback - More detailed
feedback is needed and not just one word
answers - When some assignments are given back
the feedback is very brief and not in that much
detail -My personal experience of feedback..
46
Other Issues -Often there is a problem with
consistency in marking -Legibility in writing
has been raised. This will directly affect
dyslexic and international students Poor
feedback has been a direct factor of students
failing re-sit exams Students Union Advice
Centre
47
  • What is being done to make things better for you?
  • University has begun improvements on promptness
    of feedback
  • - Students Union will be running a campaign for
    you..
  • The Good, the Bad and the Feedback
  • - Hand in examples of feedback- your names and
    lecturer names will be anonymous
  • - Not to reassess work but to assess feedback
  • Aims to pull out good feedback and analyse how
this can be used University wide
  • - Allow to find out areas where feedback is not
    satisfactory and find out why
  • Comprehensive report compiled and presented to
    University

48
Conclusion - We know this is an issue for you
which needs addressing - Many areas of the
University are exceptional and we hope to uncover
these - Different from many Students Union
campaigns - We need your help to make your
student experience better!!!
