    again (US loans withdrawn). Unemployment rose.
  • Politicians disagreed over how to solve the
    crisis. Chancellor Bruning resigned.
  • German People became disillusioned and voted for
    KPD and NSDAP (who promised action).
  • 1930 election saw a breakthrough for the Nazi
    Party (108 seats).
  • President Hindenburg used Article 48 to appoint
    Franz von Papen as Chancellor.
  • Von Papen failed to solve the problems.

  • July 1932 election saw Nazi Party win 38 of the
    vote biggest party in Reichstag. Hitler lost
    Presidential election to Hindenburg.
  • Hindenburg refused to appoint Hitler as
    Chancellor. He sacked von Papen and appointed
    Schleicher (article 48).
  • Nazi vote fell to 33 in November election.
    Hitler facing pressure due to number of
    elections.
  • Von Papen made a deal with Hitler.

    30 January 1933.
