ACGME.Dont panic!Usually you have 4 months
to prepare

Accreditation
  • This is the process for determining whether a
    residency or fellowship is in compliance with
    published accreditation requirements.

Faculty CVs
  • Download the one page CV form and distribute to
    the faculty /secretaries

  • Confirm the date with the site visitor
  • Formulate a general schedule for the day
  • Reserve the interview room, if necessary
  • Determine the date the PIF is due (two weeks
    prior to the actual visit)

Become familiar with
  • ACGME website
  • Program Information Form (PIF)
  • Webads
  • PIF download
  • PIF General Competency Assessment (ADS)
  • ACGME resident operative logs
  • Site visitor report
  • ACGME resident survey

  • Make sure your webads is updated
  • Review any/all correspondence with the RRC
  • Review accreditation history including citations
  • If you have any transfer residents, make sure you
    have prior training documentation

  • This document should be written by the program
    director! (yea, right!)
  • Schedule regular meeting times with your PD to
    work on the PIF

  • Check your resident files
  • Make sure your evaluations are current AND signed
  • Site visitor might ask to see your RRAs
    (especially on transfer residents
