Aims

• Increased employability and social inclusion for
  participants
• Utilise skills and experiences of service users
• Provide positive role models to other service
  users

Objectives

• Provide training to equip service users to
  volunteer
• Set up a range of volunteering placements in
  different Thames Reach teams
• Provide supportive environment in which people
  feel safe taking first steps back into the
  workplace.
• Improve User Involvement by providing real
  opportunities for service users to develop and
  improve the services offered by Thames Reach.
• Provide advice and guidance on progression routes

Outcomes

• Since June 2006, 69 people have attended the
  TRaVEL training course
• 42 have gone on to volunteer
• 13 people have moved on to paid work
• 15 people have also moved on to external training
  courses
• 5 have moved on to other volunteering
  opportunities
