The only room available is the Library
Instruction room. Click OK

The instructor computer starts AB Tutor and scans
for student computers in the room. Note the
student computers at this point will not be
turned on, but they are in the AB system so they
will appear when the system is up.

Connection failed means the workstations are not
connected to AB Tutor yet.
All the student computers are available. Notice
they are all highlighted, this means you are
working with all the computers.

  • To turn on the computers
  • School
  • Power On Computers

If this box appears click Continue.

After the computers are turned on, they are still
not connected to AB Tutor.
  • To connect the computers
  • Highlight the computers you want connected
  • Click the Connect Button.

The student computers are now connected to AB
Tutor.

  • To see what the students are doing
  • Highlight the computers you want to see
  • Click Watch

Watch allows you to see all the student computers
screens.
To get out of this view, click Close
To cycle through the views one at a time click
this.

  • To take over the student computers
  • Highlight the computers you want to take over
  • Click the down arrow beside the Show button
  • Choose Show Full Screen

Show Full Screen pushes the instructors monitor
to the student computers. They will only see
what you are doingthey can not control the
computers in this mode.

In this mode there is a tool to highlight and
write what is on your screen. To access it ,
click the AB Tutor icon in the lower right corner
and Enable Annotation.

The Annotate Toolbar allows you to draw lines,
circles, rectangles and free hand. You may
change colors, fill effects and width of lines.
You can clear the screen or use the erase
function to take off annotations without closing
the toolbar.

  • To end the Show feature
  • Click on the AB Tutor icon in the lower right
    corner
  • Choose End Show Session

Or click on the AB Tutor Control button

The Control panel for AB Tutor will resume.

To lock the student computers without showing
them your screen, click the Lock button

To unlock the student computers so they may use
them, click the Unlock button.

Use Launch to push webpages, documents, or
programs to the student computers.

The Launch application window will pop open.
Type in the file location or URL of the program,
document or webpage you want to push to the
students.
The down arrow keeps the last few launches for
easy access

After you have entered the file path or URL,
press Run. In this example, the application
pushed is the library homepage in Firefox browser.
Note Do not push login pages. Push one page
previous to the login and lead them through the
rest.

Application status will indicate browsers being
used, programs running, and computer drives being
accessed.
You have launched Firefox on the student
computers.

To chat with a student while they are sitting at
a computer, highlight their computer and click
the Chat button

Click the X button to close.

The Command drop down menu has the same
operations as the toolbar with a few more added

You can request student names from the Command
drop down menu.

workstations C, E, G, I, K.

When class is done, you can shutdown the
computers from AB Tutor. Highlight the computers
you want to shutdown and press the Shutdown
button.

The student workstations are now turned off.

  • After the computers are turned off, AB Tutor is
    still running on the Instructors computer.
  • To restart computers, refer back to slide 6.
  • If the session has ended, close the session by
    going to the School dropdown menu, and
    choose Exit.
