Public Consultation

• 70 written submissions 49 from organizations and
  21 from individuals
• There was general support on the vision and five
  action areas
• Views of the public, comments of D21SAC members
  and latest developments have been considered, and
  draft Strategy has been revised

Government Wi-Fi Programme

• Vision
• Facilitate public access to the Internet in a
  wireless mode
• Enhance peoples quality of living through the
  convenience
• Benefits
• On all fronts for the general public, the
  Government, business sectors, ICT Industry and HK
• Wi-Fi facilities to be installed in approximately
  350 Government premises

GovHK Programme

• Official launch on 3 August 2007
• 1st reprovisioned ESD services
• Application for Search and Copy of
  Birth/Death/Marriage Certificate of ImmD
  migrated on 30 October
• Remaining reprovisioned e-services to be rolled
  out progressively before the ESD contract expiry
  on 18 January 2008
• New e-services to be rolled out from end 2007
  onwards
• Roadmap to be developed for private-sector
  participation

Government Information Security Management

• A centrally managed security audit on B/Ds
  introduced since May 2007
• Electronic Authentication Framework for public
  reference published in October 2007
• Unified Identity Management Framework endorsed by
  EGSC in November 2007
• Computer emergency response centre (CERC)
  services in other places under study will
  formulate a long-term arrangement for the CERC
  services of HK

E-government Initiatives Ahead

• Eligibility Checking System (ECS)
• A joined-up G2E service by CSB, Try, DH and
  Hospital Authority (HA)
• Do without GF181/TRY447 etc.
• Benefits
• Convenient to staff
• Save administrative efforts
• Improve control
• Reduce paper consumption (3 million paper
  forms/year)
• Launch Date
• Phase I (end 2007) - for pensioners and their
  dependants
• Phase II (Q2 2008) - other eligible persons

• Training Administration System (TAS)
• Another G2E initiative by CSTDI of CSB
• Provide e-enrollment and online access to
  training information
• Benefits
• Convenient to staff (user-centric / one-stop)
• Reduce cycle time for nominations
• Facilitate training management
• Reduced paper consumption
• To be implemented government-wide by 2012
