Terms of Reference
  • Defined and agreed
  • Support various OGP Committees, Subcommittees and
    Taskforces of OGP in pursuit of the Associations
    Mission Statement
  • Enhance and improve marine safety in the offshore
    industry
  • Provide technical guidance in those areas of
    marine interface between offshore marine
    operations, transportation and support to
    upstream exploration activity
  • Share information and knowledge openly between
    members and companies for mutual benefit
  • Provide guidance on asset audits and assurance
    procedures
  • Provide guidance to national and international
    regulations

Specific topics of focus
  • FPSO Competency Guidelines
  • These OCIMF produced documents will now go out
    with OGP endorsement.
  • DP Accreditation
  • The Nautical Institute have formed the DP-TEG
    Training Executive Group which is looking at the
    whole training and certification process. They
    have welcomed OCIMF who will be engaged in this
    group representing interests of the members of
    OTF. OGP may wish to consider their involvement
    or if there are common desires a single
    representative may be the ay forward.

  • Transfer of Personnel
  • Draft ToRs developed are to be reviewed by the
    newly formed working group under Nick Howard
    (Chevron). Members have supplied internal
    procedures for reconciliation into a best
    practice guidance.

Specific topics of focus
  • Common Dbase for Offshore Vessel Inspection
    Reports
  • Since the last presentation there have been
    developments. IMCA have formed a working group to
    revise the CMID, improve guidance on its
    completion and consider competency requirements
    for inspectors.
  • OGP have representation in the CMID Working Group
    and members should make their representatives
    aware of any suggestions or requirements they may
    want to see carried out.

Marine Safety SC update
  • The OGP/IMCA CMID working group will meet May 20,
    and again in June and July
  • Our IMCA CMID recommended updates will be input
    into this meeting
  • The OGP Marine Safety SC is also looking at the
    OCIMF SIRE system
  • An electronic database where inspection reports
    are automatically shared
  • Been in use for over 10 years
  • Will really cut down on number of physical
    audits/inspections
  • OGP may adopt SIRE with OCIMF if IMCA does not
    agree to database and sharing
  • OGP Geophysical HSE SC and IAGC will be able to
    help develop inspection protocols for geophysical
    vessels if SIRE adopted
