1. Common planning of new work the principle

• Work preferably undertaken at worldwide level
  (IEC) see globalization

• CENELEC to offer NWIs to IEC

• Possible IEC acceptance is with the target date

• NWI submitted to BT under item 5 of report to BT

• Not to forget Target date relevance for
  offering to IEC!

• Approved NWI (with its target date) is offered to
  IEC for quick check of possible acceptance (IEC
  to reply within 1 month)

• If IEC confirms interest CLC/CS requests
  technical body Secretary/Convenor to fill out IEC
  NWIP-form and subsequently sends it to IEC/CO

• IEC examines NWI and informs CENELEC if and when
  accepted (with its target date)

• NWI possible current draft is transferred to
  IEC and CENELEC work is stopped

• Important CENELEC work continues up to moment of
  formal transfer to IEC

• If target date less than 12 months away from
  approval of NWI Not offered to IEC

• Maintenance of CENELEC home-grown standards
  (amendments or new editions) Not offered to IEC

• NWIs relating to TRs Not offered to IEC

• Current proceeding CDV sent to parallel enquiry
  FDIS sent to parallel vote

• In IEC tendency for skipping FDIS stage ( from
  CDV to publication directly)

• 123 BT supported recommendation of CENELEC WG IR
  to submit all CDVs to UAP

• If FDIS anyhow, voting results on CDV dropped

• IEC SMB concurred CLC/AG approval will be sought
  

• Target date for submission of CDVs to UAP 1
  October 2005

3. Offering of CENELEC home-grown standards to
IEC (EWI)

• No change All CENELEC home-grown work continues
  to be offered as EWI

• IEC is free to convert the CENELEC work into an
  international standard
