PURPOSE OF BRIEFING

• To provide an overview of the Staff Assistance
  Visit Program and the DOD requirements which
  initiated the program.

MISSION

• Fulfill DOD-IG and Army requirements to ensure
  CMI reporting requirements are being met. (24 May
  99)
• Provide training and guidance to total Army of
  Foreign Disclosure issues. ( 25 AUG 99)

PURPOSE OF VISITS

• Prepare for formal inspections
• Understand MACOM/ MSC exposures
• Identify Critical Disclosure issues
• Promote an exchange of ideas.
• Candid Discussion

VISIT PROCESS

• Notification -180 days to MACOMS
• Coordination-90 to 45 days confirm agendas and
  Team members
• Visit normally lasts one day
• Written report of visit results to site POC

FINDINGS

• Need for SIPERNET connectivity.
• FORDTIS Training
• Coordination with Reserve and NG
• Security Concerns- Clearances Badges
• Computer Access- Email identification
• DDLs- Approval process
• Trained FDOs- on orders

THE FUTURE

• Visits to inspections once regulation is
  published. Those on SAV schedule will be
  visited prior to inspection.
• Inspections will be formal. Same Format.
• Inspections only to MACOMS and selected
  facilities
• Recording of all Foreign Visits
