Wheel and Axle

• When turning the wheel the axle moves
• Sometimes used to cover a distance
• Examples cars, bicycles, wagons, windmills

• A bar that rest on one point and helps left or
  move an object
• Examples see-saw, hammer, fork

Pulley

• Uses a wheel and rope to move an object up or
  down
• Examples flag poles, window blinds, wells

Inclined Plane

• A flat surface that is connect to the top and
  bottom levels, in order to move objects up and
  down
• Examples ramps, stairs, ladders

Wedge

• An object with a sharp edge, used as a cutting
  tool
• Examples knife, axes, needle, nail

Screw

• An object with ridges around it, used to hold
  something in place
• Examples screws, cork screw, drills, swivel
  chair
