The Challenge

• You have just won a vacation to the most prized
  location, our Solar System!! But first, you need
  to check out your destination and plan a few
  stops along the way. You want to be prepared
  before you visit so you can describe what you are
  looking at when you see something interesting.

The Journey

• Your mission
• You will work with a partner to research the nine
  planets and their characteristics.
• Pick three planets to focus on and describe the
  moons, physical conditions of the planet,
  location in the solar system, and any surrounding
  objects, such as comet and asteroids, for each
  planet.
• Go to the next page to find a few resources you
  can use to look for information regarding the
  solar system.

The Report

• Once you have gathered all of your information,
  you will design a travel brochure for the 3
  planets you picked and their surrounding stars
  and galaxies. Go to the next slide for
  Directions.

• You can also go to www.google.com and type in
  solar system to find any additional information.
• Be sure to record your information a sheet of
  paper. Include at least 5 facts for each planet
  you choose, along with drawings or photographs of
  the planet. Click on the next to Report
  below to make your travel brochure.

Directions

• The brochure will include the 5 facts for each
  planet, along with drawings or photographs. It
  needs to accurately portray the planets and be
  neat and easy to follow. Your classmates will
  read through the brochure to pick the planets
  they want to visit, so be creative and have fun!
