bodies of other members who were washed into the
sanctuary.

in Banda Aceh takes a moment to rest during

Members of the conference staff volunteered to
help. They found someone who had died in the
church yard. They worked to remove the body
according to established procedures.

UMCOR worked to quickly clean up the church yard
by bringing in heavy machinery.

The first expenditure of the North Indiana
Conference was to complete the church school.
Reconstruction is well underway.

The church gate and wall are being reconstructed
with UMCOR funds.

Contributions from the North Indiana conference
will complete the school, then tear down and
reconstruct a larger church building. The
current structure can accommodate only a fourth
of the congregation.

The Methodist Church in Banda Aceh has come a
long way in the last five months thanks to the
faithful gifts of United Methodists in North
Indiana and beyond.
