ADMISSIONS
  • Hold a valid Texas Teachers Certificate
  • Hold a Masters degree
  • Have 2 years teaching experience
  • Have an overall grade-point average of 2.5 or
    higher on a 4.0 system
  • Demonstration of oral skills through a successful
    interview
  • Demonstration of written skills through
    successful response to essay questions
  • Bilingual applicants must have bilingual
    certification and have passed the Spanish TOPT
  • Completed application

Curriculum
  • 90 hours (6 hours a day for 3 weeks) of
    pre-assignment training provided by HISDs Child
    Study Department
  • 12 hours of graduate level coursework at the
    University of St.Thomas
  • Weekly training sessions with Child Study
  • Observations by ACP Supervisor and Educational
    Diagnostician mentor

  • Two year internship
  • First year employed by Child Study shadow
    Educational Diagnostician mentor
  • Second year assigned to school and provide
    diagnostic services which are reviewed and
    signed by mentor
