Purpose of Evaluation
  • To determine school districts compliance with
    regulations in Chapter 339 which govern the
    delivery of Career and Technical Education to
    students and subsequent use of funds allocated
    for this purpose

This was our first evaluation in over ten years.

  • Restructuring of the Business Classification of
    Instructional Programs (CIPs) was commended
  • New program recommendations should be based on
    market analysis and involve advisory committees
  • Present recommendations to the Board, teachers
    and administration
  • CIPs should have evidence of preparation for
    employment (correction)

  • Recommendation on the clarification of federal
    and state subsidies to ensure they are used for
    CTE programs. Joint agreement between the
    principal and CTE administration is recommended
    with final decision resting with CTE Executive
    Director.

Process to Respond
  • At District Level
  • District must provide a response to all
    corrections at the school and District level
  • School Plans to be released September 11, 2009
  • Board must approve plans for the District and the
    schools (September 29, 2009)
  • Recommendations do not require a response,
    however, will be considered as a part of CTE
    planning and goal setting

General Comments
  • .It is apparent that many excellent
    programs, activities, and support services are
    available to students. Students were observed
    actively engaged in the learning process and
    positive interaction between students and
    teachers was readily seen
